Coach Report

Iain MacFadyen Memorial Gala 2nd September 2017

Considering it is very early in the training cycle having just come off the summer holiday break the times posted by the swimmers representing the team at this gala is way ahead of schedule.

For those of you who did not post personal bests don’t panic! we know where improvements are needed and these will be looked at in training.

Congratulations to Elliot Furniss who for two of his swims actually took the club records for his age group in the 100 IM and 50 breaststroke. Elliot also gained 4 silver medals and a bronze for his swims.

The key elements to getting personal bests is hard training following the carefully constructed sets laid out at each of your training sessions and just as important is listening to us on areas in your swims which can be improved.

It is staggering the improvements being made already however we shall not be letting up so be prepared for some hard sessions to ensure that your swim times are constantly improving.

Thats all for just now so well done!!

2016/17 season Report
Head coach summary to date and expectations for the coming 2017 season

I have been very impressed with the attitude shown over the various galas last year with great success for not only the senior squad members but also for the younger swimmers who were experiencing competitive swims for the very first time

While we say goodbye to two of the senior squad in James and Euan, who have achieved well beyond expectations through hard work and training, I am looking forward to others stepping up to take their place and achieve their swimming goals.

This coming year will bring even greater challenges, however I am very confident that the training schedules already mapped out for the squad will again see continued success.

We will expect a high standard of training for the coming year and as I always say lots of personal best times come to those who listen, learn and understand what is being taught.

For those just about to join the club a very warm welcome and I am sure you will fit in quickly to the training regimes and also enjoy your time with us.

That’s all for just now however when we return in August keep training hard to get your times down but most of all enjoy your swimming.
